The Aldosterone test measures the level of aldosterone, a hormone produced by the adrenal glands that helps regulate blood pressure and balance sodium and potassium levels in the body. Abnormal aldosterone levels may contribute to high blood pressure, electrolyte imalance, dizziness, fatigue, or adrenal gland disorders. This test is commonly ordered when a patient has difficult-to-control blood pressure, low potassium levels, or symptoms suggesting an adrenal or hormonal imbalance.
