The Beta-2-Microglobulin (B2M) test measures the level of B2M, a protein found on the surface of most cells, in the blood or urine. Elevated levels can indicate kidney dysfunction, certain blood disorders, or immune system activity. Common reasons for testing include: Evaluating kidney function Monitoring certain blood cancers (e.g., multiple myeloma, lymphoma) Assessing immune system disorders Supporting ongoing treatment or disease monitoring Specimen Type: Blood draw Turnaround Time: Typically 1–3 business days Collection Available: In-office or mobile blood draw
