The Creatinine Clearance 24-Hour Urine test measures how efficiently the kidneys are removing creatinine from the blood over a 24-hour period. This test helps evaluate kidney function and detect early kidney disease. Why it’s done: To assess overall kidney function To detect or monitor kidney disease or damage To evaluate the effectiveness of treatments affecting kidney health To support diagnosis of conditions that impact renal filtration Specimen Type: 24-hour urine collection (plus sometimes a blood draw for comparison) Turnaround Time: Typically 2–5 business days Collection Available: In-office with instructions for home collection
