The EBV Panel is a group of blood tests used to detect antibodies related to Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV). It helps determine whether a person has a current, recent, or past EBV infection. Why it’s done: To evaluate symptoms such as prolonged fatigue, swollen lymph nodes, sore throat, or fever To differentiate between acute, recent, or past EBV infection To help diagnose infectious mononucleosis (mono) To assess EBV reactivation in patients with weakened immune systems Specimen Type: Blood draw Turnaround Time: Typically 2–5 business days Collection Available: In-office or mobile blood draw services Common markers in an EBV Panel: EBV VCA IgM EBV VCA IgG EBV Nuclear Antigen (EBNA)
