The Gonorrhoeae / Chlamydia test detects the presence of Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Chlamydia trachomatis infections, common sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Why it’s done: To diagnose gonorrhea or chlamydia infections To guide appropriate antibiotic treatment To screen sexually active individuals, especially with new or multiple partners To monitor treatment effectiveness or check for reinfection Specimen Type: Urine sample or swab (genital, throat, or rectal) Turnaround Time: Typically 2–5 business days Collection Available: In-office or mobile collection
