The QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus test is a blood test used to detect latent or active tuberculosis (TB) infection by measuring the immune response to TB bacteria. Why it’s done: To screen for latent tuberculosis infection To assist in diagnosing active TB in combination with clinical evaluation To monitor individuals at high risk for TB exposure To guide decisions regarding TB treatment or preventive therapy To evaluate healthcare workers, immunocompromised patients, or close contacts of TB patients Specimen Type: Blood draw Turnaround Time: Typically 1–3 business days Collection Available: In-office or mobile blood draw services
