The Respiratory Viral Panel is a comprehensive test that detects multiple respiratory viruses from a single sample, helping diagnose infections and guide treatment. Why it’s done: To identify respiratory viral infections such as influenza, RSV, and others To help guide appropriate treatment and infection control To monitor respiratory illness outbreaks To evaluate patients with fever, cough, shortness of breath, or other respiratory symptoms To support management in high-risk populations, including children, elderly, or immunocompromised patients Specimen Type: Nasal swab or throat swab (depending on protocol) Turnaround Time: Typically 1–3 business days Collection Available: In-office or mobile collection services
