The Urinalysis with Reflex Culture test initially examines the urine for signs of infection or abnormalities. If results indicate a possible infection, a reflex culture is automatically performed to identify the specific bacteria and guide treatment. Why it’s done: To screen for urinary tract infections (UTIs) To evaluate kidney and urinary tract health To identify the causative bacteria if an infection is suspected To guide appropriate antibiotic treatment To investigate symptoms such as pain, urgency, burning, or blood in the urine Specimen Type: Urine (clean-catch sample) Turnaround Time: Urinalysis typically 1 business day; reflex culture results 2–3 business days Collection Available: In-office sample drop-off or mobile pickup (if applicable)
