The Wound Panel with Reflex to Antimicrobial Resistance (ABR), PCR test uses PCR technology to detect multiple pathogens in a wound and automatically tests for antimicrobial resistance if a pathogen is identified. Why it’s done: To identify bacteria, fungi, or viruses causing wound infections To detect resistant strains and guide appropriate treatment To support rapid and accurate antimicrobial therapy decisions To monitor healing progress and treatment effectiveness To reduce the risk of complications from resistant or untreated infections Specimen Type: Wound swab or tissue sample Turnaround Time: Typically 2–4 business days Collection Available: In-office or mobile collection services
